In its Sunday, Feb. 5, edition, the Alice (Texas) Echo-News Journal launched the first of a four-part series on bullying.
Reaction to the first part of the series has been strong, according to publisher Michael Murray.
“I don’t know how other markets are dealing with this but last Sunday we launched a 4 part series on “bullying” in the schools,” Murray wrote. “Little did we know how prevalent it is and how many people would be affected. Parents are coming out of the woodwork and we’re already revamping the series to add more in paper and online. To point, we’re talking this morning with a parent whose son was stabbed with a pen yesterday in the middle school who has been a problem in the past. Anyway I’m all for (getting) good ideas from others so I wanted to pass this on. Might be worth others taking a look at it.”
